President of the Market Arbitration Chamber (CAM B3), in São Paulo, together with Francisco Satiro. Professor at FGV Law, in São Paulo, on arbitration and international contracts. She holds a PhD from the University of São Paulo Law School (USP), where she also earned her master’s and bachelor’s degrees, and a lato sensu specialization in Law of the Economy and the Firm from FGV.

She is currently a member of the Advisory Board of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA), of which she was Vice-President (2014–2017) and a member of the Governing Board (2012–2023). Member of the ILA International Commercial Arbitration Committee, having served on the board of its Brazilian Branch (2000–2013). She was President of the Brazilian Arbitration Committee (CBAr) (2009–2013), of which she is now a member of the Advisory Council. Former member of the Deliberative Council of CAM-CCBC, of the Thematic Council of CMA CIESP/FIESP and of the Advisory Council of AMCHAM, among others.

Visiting professor in the Sciences Po LLM in International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution (TADS – 2024, Paris). In 2013, she served on the Committee of Jurists invited by the Brazilian Senate to review the Brazilian Arbitration Act. She has written numerous academic articles and is the author of the book “The Importance of the Seat of Arbitration: a view from Brazil” (Renovar, 2010). Visiting lecturer at the New Zealand Law Foundation Dispute Resolution Lecture in 2015.

Andréa Zanoni de Oliveira Peña

Andrea Zanoni Peña is a lawyer in the arbitration practice at Adriana Braghetta Advogados, working directly alongside Dr. Adriana Braghetta, international arbitrator and professor at FGV Law on arbitration and international contracts.

With solid experience built over nearly three decades of legal practice, Andrea has worked in tax litigation, business law and contractual matters, and has practised as an independent lawyer and in private legal departments. She has also gained experience in the real estate sector, advising on negotiations and purchase-and-sale transactions.

Before joining the team, she was a legal assistant at the firm for over four years, deepening her practice in arbitration, complex case management and technical support for domestic and international proceedings. Andrea holds a law degree from the University of São Paulo (USP) and has additional experience in voluntary educational and community work.

She holds a law degree from Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich and is admitted to the Bar of Düsseldorf, Germany. She completed the German legal traineeship at the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf and holds a commercial mediator certificate from the Munich Dispute Resolution Centre (MuDRC). Professor in the Global Law Program at FGV Direito SP.

Representative of the ICC YAAF (ICC Young Arbitration & ADR Forum) for Latin America (2024–2026). Former Special Counsel at MAMG and L.O. Baptista in São Paulo. Former associate at Clifford Chance in Paris, France, and Noerr in Düsseldorf. Former Deputy Counsel of the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Paris.
